Salem State University is a four-year, public university located in Salem, Massachusetts. The university, established in 1854, is located twenty miles north of Boston.

The school offers bachelor's and master's degrees in the arts and sciences, master of business administration, and post master's certificates in more than 40 academic disciplines. In addition, the university also offers continuing education courses for credit and non-credit.

Undergraduate education is the cornerstone of the school's mission. The undergraduate programs are grounded in a strong core in the liberal arts and sciences and aim to provide the knowledge necessary for a variety of professional fields.

The school also offers master's degrees, graduate certificates, educator licensure programs and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Education.

The university offers continued education with part-time undergraduate courses and programs, with the goal to allow students to earn a degree or achieve their professional or recreational goals and interests.
